TEAS admissions requirements: research and downloadable data

This dataset describes 263 program records across 49 jurisdictions. The source-check date is 2026-10-25. It is a convenience sample of published policies, not a census of nursing schools or a study of admitted students.

What the sample shows

The median is a descriptive statistic for the numeric-minimum subset. It is not the score needed at a typical school, a national passing score, an admitted-student average, or a recommended target.

  • 263 program records; one school can contribute more than one program.
  • 171 records publish a numeric total minimum. The median of that subset is 62%.
  • 41 records have one or more section minimums.
  • 111 records include a detected attempt-limit rule; read the underlying policy for its exact terms.

Collection and classification method

Collected from each institution's own admissions or program page. Every score and level shown appears in the verbatim quote from that page, and score_basis says whether it is a minimum, a recommendation, a competitive or average figure, a points threshold or a percentile. Notes were rewritten from the same pages; records that could not be confirmed were dropped.

The unit of observation is a named program and credential. Each record retains its official source URL and the date it was checked. Where a school has multiple tracks, their rules can differ. School admissions pages and current program documents control over this directory.

We distinguish a required minimum from a recommended score, a competitive score, a selection-points threshold, and a percentile. Only records classified as minimum with an explicitly numeric total enter the total-score median. Level-only requirements, section-only rules, missing totals, and non-minimum figures are excluded from that statistic.

A missing value means a comparable number was not recorded; it does not mean zero, no testing requirement, or automatic eligibility. A score can meet a total minimum and still fail a section requirement.

Reproduce the results

  • Download the JSON or CSV snapshot below. Keep the checked field with any copied record.
  • Filter score_basis to minimum and retain records with a numeric min_total.
  • Sort those totals. Use the middle value, or the mean of the two middle values when the count is even.
  • Keep program records as the denominator. Do not silently convert program counts into counts of distinct institutions.

Coverage and limits

Programs were selected for available published policy information. This is not a random or exhaustive sample. Policies can change between checks, and admissions may depend on GPA, prerequisites, residency, interviews, deadlines, or other factors that this table does not model.

The export contains structured facts, source links, and qualifiers. It excludes copied source passages. Cite the original program policy for decisions and identify TEASPATH as the compiler when discussing the compilation. No reuse license for a school’s underlying content is implied.
